Home.

The wreath and cauldron are home, as sure as anything else. Jim doesn't understand, not really, what the magic is or what it does. But he understands the way the word sounds when Felix says it. The way Runa beams to see her work recognized for what it is and how her husband watches her enjoy the moment without moving to interrupt it. A splash of color fills his cheeks when he ducks his head to nod.

Home, indeed.

It's good of Runa to tolerate such unabashed nerds in her sphere of influence, though of any of them Felix might feign hurt to be called as much. For V and Jim both the descriptor is very apt.

"Believe me, I have more Starfleet regulation memorized than anyone wants to see committed to paper. Dense doesn't bother me." Jim hasn't forgotten his own promise, either. Even if he hasn't had the time of late to turn his attention back to this area of study. When he has a journal finished the Durants will be getting a copy.

Cast iron cookware is something Jim understands, and for a moment he beams again because if nothing else he knows how to clean this. Leonard was quite adamant in teaching him how to treat cast iron when they were living together at the Academy. He glances back at Felix to see if the mage is as eager for the prospect of giving these things a try as he is.

"There's the Caelus family home in Bruma, of course. Our room will always be there." Jim never thought he'd count a place on Nirn as a home until now, but Nereus was quite clear at just how welcome they were in that house. His mouth feels dry when he clears his throat. "There's the ship, obviously. But...we have a house back on Earth. My...father's family home. It's ours, now."
