With a grin, she nods, and gets the squire to help her with a lance. She's seen enough movies and paintings to get an idea of how to handle the weapon. She takes some time to feel the weight of it and get used to the balance. Nudging Integrity, they trot over to the start of the runway set out for them.
One last check of the lance and she sets her sights dead ahead and murmurs to her mount, "Come on, let's show them how fast you can go."
Integrity is a focused bird. Not the fastest, but when Isidor instructs her to charge she does so without show or fanfare. The difficulty for the gryphon is getting up to take off speed while resisting the urge to spread her winds. The difficulty for Isidor is trying to get a handle on a completely new weapon. They charge, the lance drops, but she catches it a fraction too low and by the time she corrects her aim it skims just under the target.
Isidor curses under her breath but is all calm and collected when she returns to hand back the lance. She nods to the stranger. "So? What did she reach?"
