chiron_survivor: (thoughtful but hopeful)

"Oh, that's a good point," Adia says, nodding thoughtfully. "I remember you telling me about that, Felix. I'm assuming you found your mystery aunt?"

Caspar doesn't exactly return Felix's grin, but it's clear he gets it. When you're pledging yourself to the love of your life, you want to make the moment last. "A ritual for every Divine, huh? We managed to whittle it down to two gods and a generic ritual for the rest, which is pretty standard."

"Even the secular weddings usually have a throwaway line to Hera. It's bad luck to leave her out." Adia smiles a touch sheepishly and twists the wedding band on her finger. "Must be worse luck to leave out the Divine."

If it were just her and Jim, she'd ask him about those rituals, wanting to know if he ever feels any conflict between a universe ruled by natural laws and one that teems with magic and deities. She might even express her own concern about finding that balance within herself. But that's not really a conversation for a reception line. Maybe another time.

As if sensing the heaviness of his wife's thoughts, Caspar turns the conversation back to a lighter subject. "Replicated coffee still sounds better than what was passing for coffee on Atlantis. Too bad you never learned to like it, Felix. I'll bet a caffeinated mage could fire off spells like nobody's business."
