A Very Nexus Reception
To all the friends of the happy grooms, PINpoint messages have already been sent weeks ago inviting them to expect quite the street party arranged in the commons of the Nexus. Guests have been invited to bring an appetite--both for food and for a social adventure. Nirnish weddings are public affairs, after all. While the ceremony has had to be somewhat sequestered for the sake of keeping the existence of Other Worlds a secret, neither Felix nor Jim would want to leave out their interdimensional friends entirely. Having a reception party arranged in the Nexus became the natural plan of action.
Overnight large sections of the Commons are transformed via diligent craftsmanship and quite a lot of magic from those who’ve volunteered. Lanterns representing the Divines are hung along every lamp post, bringing at least the idea of warmth even if the flames are too small to heat their surroundings alone. Bardic tunes carry in the air as readily as the scent of food and drink. Past banners of red and black, blue and white the people gather.
For both grooms this is nearly a continuation of the day before. They’ve had the chance to sleep off the nerves of their ceremony. Today is entirely for celebration--uninhibited celebration at that. No more minding what is said and isn’t. No more pretending to be anything other than who they are. Jim’s traded out his Nirnish finery for a suit and tie, garments he’s much more familiar with. Felix is staying with his native clothing; though he may have dressed down a little from his wedding clothes, the conjurer’s dressed in fitted breeches and his best fur-trimmed coat and boots, the soft hide dyed blue to match his tunic. By their side sits the conjurer’s spectral wolf familiar, ears pricked at the gathering.
As the guests find their ways over it will be easy to spot their friends amidst all the decor along with many other avenues with which to enjoy themselves….

"Hello, Felix. It's been a while," says the mechanic, arms folded with that familiar cocky smile. He lifts his goggles. "Last time I bumped into you was that mess with the spiders. And Jim, haven't seen you since last winter. I want to offer both of you my congratulations - it's a long time since I've been to a wedding, and it's nice to see you in better circumstances."
He offers a hand, smile becoming a grin. "And hey, best of luck to you. Thanks for the party. You two went all out, I see."

"Congratulations, you two." Adia is smiling, nearly beaming. She has witnessed Jim and Felix through their ups and downs (some very serious downs, at that), and could not help becoming personally invested in their happiness. It's a testament to love that they have passed through all those hard times and come out all the stronger for it. "And thanks for giving the Nexus a chance to celebrate."
"Yeah, congratulations," Caspar echoes distractedly. His gaze is on Anastasia, watching her the way one might a toddler who is hovering too close to something breakable. The kneazle meows up at him innocently. "The actual ceremony go well?"

Runa and Viatorus
As soon as she spies the lucky couple, she bounds over, tugging at Viatorus' sleeve to follow. He's a little slower as he has to focus on magically bringing their gift along. Unburdened, Runa runs over and hugs Jim and then Felix.
"Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!" The way she beams there's no doubt about that.
When Viatorus catches up to her he's followed by a heavy black cauldron with a wreath around its neck floating along after him. As soon as they stop, however, it sets itself onto the ground. His smile may be weaker than his wife's, but that's more on account of being at a party than anything else. "Congratulations. I hope the wedding went well."
Runa claps her hands together. "Can I see your rings? Please?"

Amelia's usual black is well on display with her chosen gown, but she's managed bright pop of color in her choice of cloak. She looks much more like her usual self with her hair held in place with her hair pin and delicate leather gloves on her hands, though for a party like this she's managed to leave any
visibleweapons behind. Whatever sadness and weight still hangs over her is well hidden behind the bright smile she offers both Felix and Jim when it comes her turn to approach them, to the point where one might not know she'd been struggling over the past few months without asking."Congratulations, to the both of you," she says brightly. She curtsies politely and then offers each of them a bag of fresh coffee beans from under her cloak. "On my world, it's traditional to offer a practical gift to married couples. I thought something to help start your days, at least for a short time, would be appropriate."

Greetings from the Sky
It’s why, though he doesn’t resist investigating the wedding below, he doesn’t simply land on the rooftops above the main party; he picks a spot out of the way where he can yet get a view of the celebrations. With a rush of wind and a thump of weight that shakes his perch to its foundations, he settles onto a small one-storey shop that’ll be getting the claw marks out of the roof for weeks. Alas, when he cranes his head down to ask the nearest guests what the occasion is, the family of bearfolk squeak and drop their cakes in their hurry to leave. Hmm. This business may be more difficult than he expected...

He approaches the couple with a smile for both of them. No matter what's happened between them in the past, that's behind them. Literally, in the case of the runeblade slung over his back.
"Jim!" he says a little too loudly. "Felix. You two! I think the hardest part to believe about all'a this is that you both survived long enough for it to happen. Feelin' any different?"

Re: Greetings
Leia was warm enough to shrug out of the twice oversized parka Han had lent her and draped it over a chair. She wore a lovely blue velveteen dress and it caught the light in a soft glowing way.Made in the same way as shimmer silks it seemed to run with iridescence depending on how the light caught it. Her hair was piled in long curls and twists with ringlets that fell well down her back. She been on the run for so long that it felt good to actually dress nicely for a change. It had been part of her court life she'd thought she hated, apparently with missing ones home the simplest things acted as reminders.
Leia didn't know the music that was playing, but she stepped closer to listen and watch the others, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and it did her heart good to see it. She smiled and rocked just a little to the music, rhythm it seemed was indeed universal.

Sorry for the double tag, DW's being dumb.
This time, perhaps, to tease him while he's up high.
Just because.
She's wearing a nice dress for this, too, of course, something in a deep black.

Una and Sigrid are in perfect, lacy little frocks, hair up in ribboned braids, and Eindrid wears a little blue suit. Loki is in black and green.
They all wait patiently until Felix and Jim are free, and when they do approach at last, Sigrid hops in front of her guardian to hold up a pair of little wrapped boxes to the men. "Hi! We brought presents!"

That's no excuse not to show up, though, so he does, and what he brings is a tin of chocolate chip cookies with ivy and couple camellias on top, for good luck. He's wearing a few less layers in concession to a semi-formal occasion, with a black sweater bearing a white star design down the chest. When he greets them, he leads by shoving the tin in their general direction.

He doesn't know Felix or Jim very well, but he's always game for a party, and they seem like a good crew.

This whole thing is still weird, watching himself stand up in front of a crowd and recite wedding vows that he's never heard before, but he couldn't be happier for Felix and the other Jim. It's too bad Hunter couldn't make it, but Jim has already delivered wedding gifts and well wishes from the both of them.
A fluffy orange kneazle can occasionally be seen trailing at his heels, or draped across the shoulder of his suit, or vanishing beneath the hanging tablecloths to hunt stray crumbs and passing shoelaces.

Harley is wearing a steampunk-style tailor coat today, and has her hair styled from the 1920s. The outfit was chosen so she could keep a few of her weapons on her person... just in case she had need of them.
She makes a nice little pyramid of honey cakes on a plate first. And grins at the Crossroad staff that she recognizes, with a playful wink for them all. And she waves at Katsuya… but knows best not to linger, otherwise she would be put to work.
Then she stands at the open bar, deciding on a drink to start her night.

At some point, the door to the hall is opened and Han lets himself in while the door swings open. The vape gets tucked into the inside pocket of the fitted blazer he’s wearing as he starts to weave himself into the event, heading directly to the bar.

As the pair pass by the table a second time, the demon turns his attention the angel, a grin pulled wide across his face. "Would you like to pick our first treat of the night, angel? Or is it my turn?" He honestly can't remember who chose last night's chocolate torte while they were out for dinner. Taking turns when choosing what to eat is important!

Stirring the Keg
...That said, he's really hoping and expecting to find Norn around here and catch up with him. So it's disorienting when quite another voice pipes up in his ear.
"Better watch ooouut." Sing-song words, low and amused. For a second he feels a warm arm draped over his shoulders. "Looks like someone's got their eyes on your man."
"What?" His head snaps round, but the speaker's pulled away. Felix looks around wildly, torn between the familiar voice and puzzled alarm. But the question of who said it falls by the wayside when he sights Jim over by the bar. There he is- and there's Harley Quinn, popping a honeycake into her mouth as she leans suggestively toward him, all flirtatious smiles. At his wedding party.
Has this woman no sense of common decency?
Felix stares longer than he should before his eyes snap down to his ale. Jim can handle himself. He knows that already. When it comes to diplomacy, Jim has moves that could put a Khajiiti dancer to shame. But that isn't the point, for Felix. The point is whether he's going to sit around and let her mess with his husband (again), except...
If only she weren't tied to Loki. That's a problem, because even in his outrage Felix isn't stupid enough to lightly face off with a god's favorite. His eyes narrow at the ale swilling in his cup. He has suspicions about Quinn he's let lie so far. But now. Now... he needs knowledge, if nothing else.
He grabs a bottle of spare ale that someone's just left on the table beside him, and goes to find Runa.

The treenager is still a little ungainly, his arms and legs a little longer than his body probably needs, but all the better for flailing around. What he lacks in grace he makes up for in enthusiasm, waving his arms in wide arcs that encourage people not to get too close, lest they get accidentally slapped across the face with a stray branch.

That said, she's made she she's waiting with a drink in hand. It's been a tough few months and she needs the excuse to relax. She's working hard on loosening up tonight, but she's still eager to keep her personal space clear. Unlike her sister-in-law, she's chosen to rely on magic to keep her warm since, in traditional Durant fashion, her dress is based on style over practicality. On her world, flaunting your ability to combat pesky practical issues with subtle magical solutions is the aim of the game. Warding off the autumn bite is a minor inconvenience all things considered. Warding off anyone who might try to scavenge the heat around her if a far more worrying issue.
Or, even worse, staying away from a mage seeking you out. Isidor spies Felix, but she can't well snub him at his own wedding celebration. So she watches him and presses her lips into a thin line to stop herself from frowning. That said, she's not going to approach him either.

Party Games
For those who just want to learn a new game, most of the players are quite laid-back and willing to show an alien stranger the rules. But anyone willing to wager a little more will find revelers equally willing to indulge them. Maybe a little too willing. There’s something about the atmosphere back here, or the heady liquor being passed around, or the man who hands it to you with a wicked grin and vanishes when you look away…
Oh, but you will have fun.
no subject
Yet it's not enough to get him to leave the table either. What could be the harm in a simple game, so long as he does not wager anything he doesn't mind losing? "Deal me in," he asks, leaning forward to rest his elbows against the table's edge.

Send Forth Your Champions!
Now safety barricades have been set up in two rows down a long stretch of a nearby green. A squire is checking the poles of some bright bunting fluttering overhead. Guardian Tarana Parvin props a sign on its haft and drives it into the cold ground with one good drive of her armored fist, leaving it clear for all to read:
Lances Provided
Bring Your Own Mount
Sir Celann’s squire is setting up a board to hold the names of the contestants. The Breton chevaliers are fussing over their newly-arrived horses at one end of the field; on the other, a Hunter has her hover bike upturned while she tweaks its internals for the event. This isn’t the kind of mounted combat a Sparrow is designed for, but it should prove interesting - even before the rest of the Nexus picks their champions to send in. Of course, there’s also plenty of room on the sidelines for people to cheer, or laugh- or bet on their favorites…
(( Feel free to jump in as contestant or spectator; if your character wants to challenge someone specific, feel free, otherwise we’ll try and pair folks up for casual silliness. Medical aid will be on hand if needed ;) ))
Jim NO
stumbleswanders over to see what all the fuss is about, a mostly full bottle of whiskey still in his hand. Considering how much of it Jim and his Asgardian drinking buddy have had it really shouldn't be so full but who's counting right now?A grin spreads across Jim's face when he reads the sign (for the fourth time, and finally understood it). Who thought this up? They're geniuses. He needs them on his ship at once. Or maybe they already are his crew are pretty smart.
"Where d'we sign up?"
OBJECTION!
Sorry Jim your rank means nothing to a Guardian
