To all the friends of the happy grooms, PINpoint messages have already been sent weeks ago inviting them to expect quite the street party arranged in the commons of the Nexus. Guests have been invited to bring an appetite--both for food and for a social adventure. Nirnish weddings are public affairs, after all. While the ceremony has had to be somewhat sequestered for the sake of keeping the existence of Other Worlds a secret, neither Felix nor Jim would want to leave out their interdimensional friends entirely. Having a reception party arranged in the Nexus became the natural plan of action.

Overnight large sections of the Commons are transformed via diligent craftsmanship and quite a lot of magic from those who’ve volunteered. Lanterns representing the Divines are hung along every lamp post, bringing at least the idea of warmth even if the flames are too small to heat their surroundings alone. Bardic tunes carry in the air as readily as the scent of food and drink. Past banners of red and black, blue and white the people gather.

For both grooms this is nearly a continuation of the day before. They’ve had the chance to sleep off the nerves of their ceremony. Today is entirely for celebration--uninhibited celebration at that. No more minding what is said and isn’t. No more pretending to be anything other than who they are. Jim’s traded out his Nirnish finery for a suit and tie, garments he’s much more familiar with. Felix is staying with his native clothing; though he may have dressed down a little from his wedding clothes, the conjurer’s dressed in fitted breeches and his best fur-trimmed coat and boots, the soft hide dyed blue to match his tunic. By their side sits the conjurer’s spectral wolf familiar, ears pricked at the gathering.

As the guests find their ways over it will be easy to spot their friends amidst all the decor along with many other avenues with which to enjoy themselves….

Both Jim and Felix are so unperturbed by the thought of academic writing that Viatorus can't help but smile. It can be hard to tell what others are used to reading, so it's good to hear genuine reassurances.

"A farmhouse!" Runa seems as delighted by the sound of that as by her wreath hanging there. "How wonderful! It's a brilliant sort of place to start your life together. Fit for some peace and quiet and space, but also ready for whatever projects you come up with." She bounces on the spot and looks between them. "Can you take pictures for me? I love seeing houses!"

"So he says," Felix says with a chuckle. "His idea of 'old-fashioned' makes most wizards' houses look simple as a hunter's campfire." For a moment he feels the impulse to invite the couple in person- but it's Jim's home first, and one he knows his husband has mixed feelings about.

"Of course, we won't be able to spend much time there, living on the ship," he says instead. "But perhaps one of these days you could come and visit our home in Tamriel. If you'd like to, of course."

It turns out that part of becoming Viatorus' wife was ensuring he didn't spontaneously combust at the slightest innuendo. She can enjoy the prodding between the new husbands, but reacting in public isn't something she's free to do. Something to giggle at later, on the other hand...

"I think all both accustomed to places outside our norm," she says, hooking her arm through Viatorus'.

"I'd like to see the ship, too," the scholar adds hastily.

With a giggle, Runa leans forward and corrects, "He'd like to see everywhere. But we can't take our eyes off him for a second."

"Jim's the explorer," Viatorus pouts. "You should be making jokes like that about him, not me."

Felix winks at Viatorus. "Oh, I'll see that Jim gets his share of jokes, don't worry. At least I'm sure you don't seek out all the tallest things you can jump from."

(Jim hasn't done this in ages, he'd be right to find it unfair.)

The conjurer looks almost as delighted as the captain when he turns to Jim. "Really? Well, now I'm intrigued. We're only married a day and you're scheming to sneak unauthorized personnel onto Starfleet's finest ship?" He grins. "I can hardly wait."

Well this just gets more and more exciting. Runa bounces once on the spot, grinning from Felix to Jim. "We could definitely do it! I'm great at pretending I'm allowed in places I'm not."

The scholar is already a little distracted. "Do you bungee jump, Jim?"

He doesn't know why else anyone would jump from somewhere high. Especially when you don't have air magic.

Well, Runa, you're making Felix wonder why he hasn't gotten to know you sooner. He's giving the lady a conspiratorial grin already, even while Jim insists none of that is necessary. (But wouldn't it be fun?)

His smirk cracks in a hurry when recreational jumping-off-of-things comes up. "I grew up on a mountain, learning not to fall off the edge was lesson number one! You're just lucky you have good aim."

Felix shakes his head, deciding he'd better distract Jim before this idea goes any further. "We shouldn't keep you from enjoying the party, really. Will we be seeing you two on the dance floor?"

It would be way more fun. That isn't to say that despite any rules Jim or Viatorus put in place, Felix and Runa won't find a way to make their own fun anyway. Best test this out somewhere where at least Viatorus' magic won't raise too many eyebrows.

"You'll convince him yet, don't worry," Runa assures Jim with a wink.

As for the question of dancing... Well that stumps an awkward Viatorus. His wife only lets him flounder for a few seconds before jumping in with, "You won't be able to stop me. As for Viatorus..." She glances at the guilty looking scholar before grinning at Felix again. "We'll see what we can do."

"We mustn't keep you from your guests." Letting go of Viatorus, Runa hugs both of them in turn. "I am so happy for you! Enjoy tonight! And the rest of your lives!"
