To all the friends of the happy grooms, PINpoint messages have already been sent weeks ago inviting them to expect quite the street party arranged in the commons of the Nexus. Guests have been invited to bring an appetite--both for food and for a social adventure. Nirnish weddings are public affairs, after all. While the ceremony has had to be somewhat sequestered for the sake of keeping the existence of Other Worlds a secret, neither Felix nor Jim would want to leave out their interdimensional friends entirely. Having a reception party arranged in the Nexus became the natural plan of action.

Overnight large sections of the Commons are transformed via diligent craftsmanship and quite a lot of magic from those who’ve volunteered. Lanterns representing the Divines are hung along every lamp post, bringing at least the idea of warmth even if the flames are too small to heat their surroundings alone. Bardic tunes carry in the air as readily as the scent of food and drink. Past banners of red and black, blue and white the people gather.

For both grooms this is nearly a continuation of the day before. They’ve had the chance to sleep off the nerves of their ceremony. Today is entirely for celebration--uninhibited celebration at that. No more minding what is said and isn’t. No more pretending to be anything other than who they are. Jim’s traded out his Nirnish finery for a suit and tie, garments he’s much more familiar with. Felix is staying with his native clothing; though he may have dressed down a little from his wedding clothes, the conjurer’s dressed in fitted breeches and his best fur-trimmed coat and boots, the soft hide dyed blue to match his tunic. By their side sits the conjurer’s spectral wolf familiar, ears pricked at the gathering.

As the guests find their ways over it will be easy to spot their friends amidst all the decor along with many other avenues with which to enjoy themselves….

Greetings

"Give me a few to find him and I just might, dear Jim." That said, while Delia's shorter than Jim, she helps support him with her arm around him. Despite the flirty, playful tone, it's all chaste and friendly, rather than anything beyond.

As even Delia Battista knows when and how to behave when she wants.

Once Jim's relatively steady and standing up, she releases him from the hug and takes a step back, grinning broadly as she does.

"And I'm glad for it. You certainly seem happy with him, and he with you, dear Jim."

Delia's about to say she has, but she frowns and furrows her eyebrows for a moment as she lapses into thought, "...Come to think of it, I'm not entirely sure I have. I might've in passing, and I suspect if I see him, I'll know, but truth be told, dear, I couldn't tell you immediately off-hand."

If there's anyone in the Nexus that Gets It--at least aside from Jim's alternates--it's probably Delia. They've got a lot in common, and honestly, she's rather fond of our dear Jim Kirk--it's part of why she gives him so much shit and teases him. It's one of her many ways of showing affection.

Plus she can tell, for all his grousing, he doesn't hate it.

"I'm definitely happy for you, dear." There's another one of those bright and almost flashy smiles of hers, and she definitely means it, too. "Both of you, even if I can't remember if I've met him or not."

It's a problem that solves itself, since Felix has caught all that smiling and hugging and if nothing else Jim is having fun without him. With a woman Felix only recalls by sight, in fact, but with whom Jim is clearly very comfortable. Time to investigate! But he brings drinks.

"Brandy, anyone? The doctor tells me this is actually passable, so it must be good." He has glasses to offer both of them, but he pauses when he sees Jim and decides against handing him one. "I'm not butting in, am I?"

Problems that solve themselves are the problems with the best solutions!

Or something like that anyway.

Truthfully, it's something Delia's wanted to do anyway, hanging out, shooting the shit, getting a little buzzed? That's certainly something she can get behind.

Delia takes a glass and shifts her weight, smiling as Felix arrives. Whether or not he's met the Orion woman, she's certainly a distinct sight: Standing at about five foot five in the shoes she's wearing at the moment, Delia's a curvy, humanoid woman with deep green skin. She wears an eye patch over her right eye, with a deep, but faded scar across it. Her hair is shoulder length, and a sort of deep black-green color. Her good eye is a bright blue. Currently, she's wearing a rather basic, but nice black dress and low heels.

"How to describe it..." Delia muses in thought for a moment, "I'm from an alternate version of his world, and further along in the timeline. I can't remember if we've met before offhand, but I'm Delia Battista, a pleasure to meet you officially, Felix."

Jim's going to get a smirk when his husband catches that look. Felix does enjoy feeling appreciated, and he's very adept at reading Jim's thoughts- at least, when they're written so plainly on his face.

Hold that one for later, love.

He gives Delia his best charming smile as she takes the glass, pushing aside a moment of mental dissonance. Green skin and a fearless attitude makes his mind go straight to Orc, but no Orcish woman ever looked like Delia. He's immediately certain his aunt would like her.

"The pleasure is mine," he replies, lifting his glass to her rather than take the risk of bowing. "I've been looking forward to meeting the famous Captain Battista." He grins. "Everyone in Starfleet is so prim and well-behaved, Jim keeps trying to tell me the rest of the galaxy is more fun. Is he telling the truth?"

While there's obvious muscle beneath Delia's curves, she's certainly not an Orc. She doesn't have the teeth for it, for one. "The famous Captain Battista, you say? I do hope you've heard flattering things about little old me," There's a playfully flirtatious tone to her words, and she's grinning as well. There's another one of those flashy smiles to go with it.

As long as her friends are happy, it matters little how. She takes a sip of the drink, making a soft, pleased sound as she does. "And the pleasure is mine as well, on that note." She cuts a glance to Jim, "And I've known a few fun Starfleet types in my day, depends on when and where, of course."

Her tone is teasing and fond, and she's still grinning, eye alight with mischief.

"I can't imagine anyone speaking unflatteringly of you, my lady. The roguish space captain with a wicked sense of fun and a charming smile?" He winks at Jim. "I for one rather like that sort."

Delia's grin draws a smirk in turn. "Yes, well, the trouble with some Starfleet types is they won't let themselves have fun, you know. They need a kind soul to prize them away from their work with a firm hand, let's say. Any recommendations about how to do that? I had an idea I'd learn to play dom jot very badly so they'd feel compelled to come fix it."

"I haven't played dom-jot in literally forever" Delia gives a little bit of a laugh, and then grins, brightly, her good eye alight with mischief, "So I might be a little rusty."

Delia herself is rather pleased with this as well, having heard about Felix from Jim, she's happy to see they're all getting along oh-so-well. "Although some might've called me a hustler in the olden days of yore."

Hopefully, Felix knows what he's getting into, with these two together.

Jim, you're just going to get an exasperated (yet affectionate) look for that, as the Enterprise's foremost offender. "Yes, indeed we will."

When the time comes. He'll save this particular conversation to bring up at the appropriate juncture.

"What devious minds I've fallen in with. Of course, if I'm going to learn, maybe I'm better off learning from scoundrels." He winks at Delia. "I might even have a fighting chance if you are rusty."

He's pretty sure he knows what he's getting into- and so long as it involves a good night out with his husband, a fun new friend, and perhaps a dash of mischief, he's all for it.

A mere dash of mischief, from our dear Delia Battista? Oh, she plans for much more than a dash. She takes Jim's arm with a pleased little sound, "Lead the way, dear Jim~" She says, grinning as well with clear amusement over this entire situation.

As they pass someone serving drinks, she plucks a glass for herself and takes a nice sip.

"There is?" He doesn't remember that either, but either one of Jim's friends must have arranged matters or- well, the Nexus does like to provide, doesn't it? "Well, you can't ignore good fortune like that."

If Delia's taking one of Jim's arms, Felix is taking the other, escorting the captain between them to the open table. Once there, the conjurer breaks away to lean against the table as he peers over it, a mite skeptical.

"Well then, which of you charmers is going to show me how it's done?"

"I don't know," she murmurs, loud enough to be heard, but with that oh so fun, playful, conspiring sort of air, "I tend to be pretty lucky myself, dear Captain."

She flashes one of those damn bright, flirty, playful smiles of hers, her eye glittering with mischief and mirth. Delia does her part to help set up the table and pass out cue sticks, occasionally taking a sip of her drink as she does.

Delia then frowns thoughtfully, regarding the table as she moves to take her first shot to break. "After all, all the fun's in playing, taking the shots and seeing where it all goes."

Felix blinks as he's handed a cue, but then smirks. He cants his head to one side, running a hand up the polished wood before he steps closer to the table. Oh, the innuendos he could deploy...

There's a rather satisfying clack as the balls break and go rolling across the smooth surface of the table. Felix watches them scatter with mild curiosity; he has no idea yet what he should be watching for.

"Well, I can't promise to be deft, but I can be flexible." He can try to imitate Delia's stance, too-or at least begin to before he lifts his eyebrows at them. "So, where am I supposed to be punting these?"
