This time the comment makes Jim clench his jaw and fist at his side tighter but otherwise he doesn't allow himself to react. The shock has more or less worn off, leaving a pervasive ache in its place and that is a pain Jim Kirk is no stranger to. He can ignore it long enough to get through the meeting.
