Part of the Tribune's repertoire includes Alteration spells. Jim knows this because every Single Time he and Felix have to do any kind of manual labor Felix laments that he hasn't ever gotten lessons from Stratos in how to make things lighter with that kind of magic.

"Here. What're you drinking? Doesn't matter--you gotta try this. Somebody gave me a bottle an' it's really good." They can't have had very much of it. It's still mostly full! But Jim's going to refill his glass and press it into Stratos' free hand. He will not be a rude host to his brother in law of all people.

Jim ~~stumbles~~ walks them through everything he's tried to lift the hammer so far, mostly for Stratos' benefit. He even has Thor pick it up (effortlessly at that) and set it down again so Jim can show Stratos just how immovable it is for the captain.

"It's..it's gotta be magic. He says no one can lift it an' I'm not building a seven step adjacent level an pulley system right now just to prove him wrong. Math can't fix this alone. I.."Jim sways just a bit before leaning toward Stratos emphatically. "I need your help."
